In 1870, Maurice Hennessy unveiled a new cognac style, Hennessy X.O., for his group of friends. The Original and recognizable symbol of the Hennessy Maison is Hennessy X.O.
Maurice Hennessy named this particular Cognac “XO” in the 1800s, and it was first produced in 1870 for friends and family. More than a hundred eaux-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois regions are combined to create this blend. A Cognac that is genuinely historical, spicy, rich, and complex that is meant to be enjoyed with a cigar.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Aroma: Prunes, Corinth raisins, and sticky toffee pudding combine to create a rich, fruity flavor.

Taste: Overripe plums with dark chocolate. A hint of sultana flavor, spice, and cocoa butter.

The wine has a warm, candied fruit flavor, a rising heat that reveals the complex taste of eaux-de-vie aged in oak barrels. A strong spicy cognac note and a hint of chocolate add to the flavor. The wine also has a flowing flame, a rich, dark chocolate flavor, wood crunches, and an omnipresent oak note.
